This piece offers me a reminder to not be held in by previous self-definitions and always remain open to changing how I see myself. It may feel a bit ominous because I try to capture the darkness and self-deception sometimes revealed by accepting clearer self-perception. Only by seeing all parts of ourselves can we hope to shed old layers.
