This piece is a combination of the many mediums I’ve worked in over time. Refigured into something new. There are old projects I’ve torn apart and molded into new forms. Each part of the whole represents some part of my artistic journey over my lifetime. It represents letting go, embracing that I’ll never have one way of expressing myself, and accepting that, that is exactly what makes me an artist. I spent so much time trying to fit into a mold of what I thought people wanted to see me create, and with this piece I was finally able to let go and create fully for myself. It was the first time I’ve been genuinely excited to create something in a long time. Finally, a mirror was added to remember that we too are art. Each person's reflection will complete the artwork in a different way, and no two people will see the same creation because we each will complete it with the personal touch of our own essence.
