People Hate What They Don’t Understand

“People hate what they don’t understand.”
This quote has stayed with me for over a decade and the longer I sit with it, the more truth I find in it.
Mental health lives in that exact space: the misunderstood. What we cannot explain, we tend to fear. What we fear, we reject. And what we reject, we often condemn silently or out loud. Einstein spent his life dismantling the idea that complexity should be avoided. This piece pairs his image with that simple, uncomfortable truth as a quiet challenge: what are you pushing away simply because you haven’t tried to understand it?
Nine times out of ten, the thing we distance ourselves from most isn’t dangerous, it's just unfamiliar. Mental health deserves more than distance. It deserves curiosity
