“Do Not Fear What You Do Not Know”

I created my take on the "biblically-accurate angel," who tells people who encounter it: Do Not Fear. I wanted to contemporize the message to speak to the homophobia and xenophobia found today, particularly among right-wing Christians who are familiar with the biblical reference. The title "Do Not Fear What You Do Not Know" encourages open-mindedness, compassion, and understanding. The eyes within the butterfly wings symbolize perception, and the form itself is an emblem of transformation. Together, the elements tell a story of changing how we see the world, as instructed by divinity.
