About the Event

RichesArt Gallery Partners with Fansub

to Host Second Annual American History Exhibit During Black History Month

The American History exhibit will showcase American history through the view of artists across the state of Texas.

AUSTIN, TEXAS [DATE] – RichesArt Gallery is partnering with Fansub for their Annual American History exhibition showcasing Texas artists and their interpretation of Black people’s contributions to American history. The exhibition opens Friday, February 4 and will last through March 26th. Attendees can buy art from local artists and vendors, participate in various sensory art stations, and listen to performances. Opening night is free and open to all ages.

“The American History exhibition is for everyone. We want each visitor to walk away with their own personal realization that you can’t know America’s history and appreciate it without recognizing its Black contributors,” said Richard Samuel, Owner, RichesArt Gallery. “Each artist is telling their own personal story of excellence, peace, and freedom – all values of American history that we understand. We’re just spotlighting that through the lens of Blackness.”

During opening night, there will be an unveiling of one of CapMetro’s Black History Month buses designed by Richard Samuel.

“We are so excited to be able to help showcase just some of the amazing work from Richard during Black History Month,” said Director of Community Engagement Melissa Ortiz. “Local artists are the backbone of our community and they make Austin so special. It’s an honor to be able to collaborate with such great talent in our community.”

Attendees across the globe can also experience opening night virtually thanks to Fansub, an online event streaming platform. Those attending virtually will view every room, the unveiling, and performances in real time. Tickets for online attendance can be found at https://fansub.live/e/americanhistoryvol2openingreception.
