Para Usted Mi Niña
Paper and cardboard about 36”x 48” x 7in
A true labor of love. 30 hours of trying to figure out if I could bring this idea into existence.
A piece that honors the traditions of my dad and abuelo.
A piece that showcases how love and blessings surround what is bad, holding it tightly until the good overcomes the harm. Hate doesn’t win when hope is all around it. FUCK ICE.
Two-dollar bills are rare and often kept rather than spent, sometimes folded into hearts and given as gestures of love, good luck and blessings. My dad and abuelo would receive them as tips and pass them down to me, turning something small into something sacred.
When money is folded into a heart, it transforms from ordinary currency into something intimate and personal. Its value shifts from material to emotional.
In the same way, Amor Eterno reminds us that love does not disappear with absence. It changes form. It transforms. It lives on in memory, in ritual, in the quiet objects we carry. What once moved through many hands becomes something we hold onto — not for its worth, but for what it represents.
